Zion National Park in Utah - April, 2000

As with much of Zion, I was impressed with the magnificent walls surrounding the Pebble Falls area. Unique to this section, were the impressively strong and persistent pines growing up this extremely high cliff. They seemed to effortlessly climb their way towards light and survival in the most perilous of places. By isolating a certain portion, I wanted to capture the color and roughness of the wall,with these pines, in the midst of their balancing act.
