Galen and Barbara Rowell

World -renowned nature photographer, writer, and climber Galen Rowell, and his wife Barbara, an accomplished writer and photographer in her own right, died early Sunday morning in a plane crash outside of Bishop, California.

Galen's contributions to landscape and nature photography have been immense. His imagery, work ethic, and appreciation for our world were inspirational to me as both a photographer and as a person.

He will be sorely missed by many.
