FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 7, 2001 - Lander, Wyoming - Scenic Prints announced today
that several upgrades and additions have been added to its Internet location.
"I'm continuing to try and make the site a better place for all", stated
owner and photographer Chris Robisch.
Robisch noted that the following improvements have taken place:
- Improved Image Scans…in all cases, the online version of images
are now closer to the actual photograph. "Image clarity, color accuracy,
and digital file size have all improved", Robisch pointed out. "The
images stand out a bit more and customers should enjoy that". Some images
may take less time to load. The improved scans apply to all thumbnails
in the galleries, all enlarged images, as well as the images displayed
within the Home page presentation.
- Smaller Postcard Images (display only)…While the actual electronic
postcards that are sent to recipients have remained at 300 by 400 pixels,
the postcards displayed on the page viewers use to create an e-card
have been reduced to 200 by 300 pixels to improve the page's load time.
"I noticed that a number of people were viewing the 'Create a Postcard'
page, but were not sending one", Robisch said. "It was easy to figure
out that customers with a dial-up modem connection didn't want to wait
for the five images to load". The reduction in file size helps this
page load faster.
- Cleaner Home Page…The button menu has been reduced in size
and the rotating images have been changed. This has been done in an
effort to present a cleaner and more powerful initial presentation.
Additions, to the site are many, but Robisch believes customers will
really appreciate the direction of the Internet location; especially heading
into spring. "There is more to look at, and it is easier to get around
the site", Robisch said. "There is more for commercial clients as well".
Specifically, the following items have been added:
- Site Map…keeping to the idea that visitors to Scenic Prints
should be able to go anywhere, from anywhere, this page lists every
page within the site. Also, as new pages are added, they will be color-coded
so visitors know what is new. Repeat visitors will find this feature
rewarding.
- New Press Releases…Announcements about Scenic Prints involvement
in the Western Design Conference held in Cody, Wyoming and this year's
art show schedule.
- New Images… "The Heart", "Native Dawn", "Crystal Trees",
and "Stark Evening Swirls"
- Site Survey…This quick and easy 15-question survey allows visitors
and customers to give their thoughts and feedback while having an influence
on the direction of Scenic Prints online. "I can't possibly know everything
that customers want to see, etc.", Robisch pointed out. "However, if
I could get a glimpse of what they are looking for…what they would like
to see change or added…what they think is good or bad, it would really
help. Scenic Prints is a collection of what I love to create. However,
the site is for the customer; I can't emphasize that enough. To that
end, it matters a great deal what they think and feel". Robisch has
made sure that there is a reward for survey participants; that's how
much he wants their feedback.
- Stock Use Page…In order to make things easier for clients wishing
to use a Scenic Prints image for advertising and/or promotional purposes,
this page lists all images within the library in defining categories.
While the display galleries are arranged by emotional or impressionistic
categories, this page contains lists of images based on their geographical
and physical attributes. A commercial visitor can get right to what
he/she wants very quickly this way; saving a photo buyer valuable time.
