Arches National Park in Utah - April, 2000
True, this arch is one of the most often
photographed rock formations of the western U.S. It seems that every photographer
tries to best the previous by over-saturating the arch on film with artificial
color via colored filters and including few (if any) other earthly elements
within the composition. I wanted to show this arch with its true surrounding
environment, in its natural color at sunset. Thus, the inclusion of the
La Sal Mountains and the vast sky in the background.
